Very useful info in this blog. I find it very well thought out and plainly presented. I am sure the average homeowner has never considered this option. The policies of our elected politicians in Washington have finally come home to roost. I hope some of them will finally see that their actions do have far reaching implications.

Nice post! One thing I would add, as a practicing bankruptcy attorney, is that with chapter 7 it is possible to keep your home if the amount of equity is either nonexistent or fits within a specific exemption. But I agree 100% with you about the chapter 13 bankruptcy vs. foreclosure option–chapter 13 allows you to continue paying your mortgage and can strip away second mortgages, making your home affordable and allowing you to not lose the trust of future mortgage lenders.
