Investing in Real Estate

Filed under: Personal Finance — Aimee @ 11:33 pm

Real estate is one of the biggest ways that Canadians are building wealth for themselves. If you want to invest in real estate, then the first place that you should start is your own home.

Is there any way that you can turn your basement into an apartment? You could rent it out and use this to cut your mortgage payment in half, maybe more.

If you buy a duplex, or even better…a triplex, you can live in one unit and let your tenets pay the mortgage for you. Doing it this way you can actually live for free, and you can do it without needing a large stable income because the money is coming from your tenants.

My dad has a friend who got quite wealthy because of real estates. I must admit, this kind of investment can really pay for your early retirement.
