Not so fast, Microsoft trying to block Google/DoubleClick Deal
You knew this was going to happen. But this time it’s Microsoft crying foul, and Google is in the position of being the Monopoly. It can’t be good when a proven monopoly is calling you out. This is the kettle calling the pot black and they know it. They are joined by AT&T and I would assume other interests like Yahoo will throw their two cents in as well.
To me, this double click deal looks like it will hurt Google’s public image. It is that image that has given them the position they have. If the user no longer trusts Google because they either have to much information on you, are starting to show more intrusive ads, or can make or break another on-line business at whim, then what will happen?
It is too early to tell if this deal will be good for people trying to Make Money Online. This deal could bring us closer to having to deal with Google as there will just be no room for smaller players. Hopefully they will stick to the ‘Do No Evil’ thing and make DoubleClick’s ads more tolerable.
