I understand that, and I’m sure the operators get pressured by their bosses to to avoid false alarms, but it sucks for the people who really need help.

In my opinion maybe the staff of 911 is also pissed of prank calls. But its not proper for them to insinuate a person. Its their job to respond to calls. I think there’s no reason for them to get mad because they are being paid for it and its their duty anyway.

people shouldnt be prank calling 911 or other emergency numbers. they take up important time from other people who genuinely need help.

That’s why its an arrestable offense for calling 911 improperly. If the dispatcher acts improperly, even with these lawa that protect them, then they should be fired. Period. The public needs to record their interactions with dispatchers and law enforcement and when ther is something really wrong with those interaction then they need to request an investigation (WITHOUT LETTING THEM KNOW YOU HAVE THE RECORDING). Give them a chance to see if there is an outcome that satisfies your sense of justice. If not, let the press have the recording. Time and time again, the only way to get them to PROPERLY investigate is to release recordings.
