Two New WordPress Plugins

New wordpress plugins

We are now running two new WordPress plugins here on Foximus, which we learned about from John Chow. They are the Subscribe to Comments, and Top Commentators plugins.

Subscribe to Comments allows your readers to receive a notification when a post they have commented on recevies a reply. At the bottom of the comments box, there will now be a check box that says “Notify me of followup comments via e-mail”. Installation is very simple, Simply go here to download the plugin and FTP it into your plugin directory.

Once that is done, log into your WordPress admin section and turn it on. If you go to your options page in your admin section, you see a new “Subscribe to Comments” tab where you can edit the settings of this plugin. I will write about this again once I see if this plugin gets used or not.

The second is the Top Commentators plugin. You will notice it under the Categories on any page of Foximus. I have it set to list the top 10 commentators. It also has a direct link to the commentator’s page or blog. Nothing like a little bit of link love to get some people commenting :)

To get this plug in, go here and download it. As with the last one, throw it into your plugin directory and then activate it. You will need to add a small bit of code to your template in order for it to show up on your page.

If you have any questions about either plugin, just leave a comment here and we will make sure it gets answered.

[...] Usually when Jason is not busy punching evil, or inspecting bikinis, he is the one who installs the plugins. After my first experience with it I can tell you that it really is as easy as he says it is. [...]
