I suppose one moral lesson there is to make sure we emptied our jeans before we ran it to wash! That happened to me once or twice. Seriously, it is alarming that counterfeit money could circulate freely and can be transferred from one person to another without anyone knowing about it. Makes me stop and think, are the bills in my pocket real money? Or counterfeit?

I have seventeen nieces and nephews, who religiously get $25 cash in a birthday card from me every year. Kids love cash almost as much as seniors, and I rarely enter a convenience store without seeing a youngster agonizing over which candy to buy. It’s disturbing to think that counterfeiting is yet another crime that can strike the most vulnerable in our communities. Honestly though, it’s the businesses we shop in every day who feel the biggest punch from fake money in circulation. That means even plastic junkies like me pay the piper in the form of higher prices.

Thanks for sharing the tips to identify those bills because it is always difficult to recognize them. Although I always use electronic ways to receive and spend money but sometime I have to take the cash but that can be a big pain.
